How to Light a Fire Pit
A fire pit is a contained fire that is sheltered from rolling winds, keeping both us and the fire safe. Today we make the choice between solid or piped fuels, portable or static pits, but no matter which option you choose, how to light your fire pit is an important question.
History of the Fire Pit - How We Used to Light Our Fire Pits...
Although by name a fire pit may sound primal and savage, the fire pit may once have been dug only after the completion of a ceremony in which the turf was carefully cut, removed and stored. After the lighting of the fire pit it was respectfully replaced to hide any sign of disturbance.
Most of us however find little time to re-landscape our gardens so frequently and so the concept of how to light a fire pit has evolved over the years!
Many years later we find ourselves drawn by some genetic memory to stand watch over our traditional fire pit just as our guardian fire-watcher ancestors did.
Luckily for you we know exactly how to light a fire pit before the neighbouring nomadic tribe drop in to the garden for drinks and nibbles.
How to Light a Fire Pit Faster, Easier and Safer
You will need:
Jundor Power Bellows
Newspaper
Small sticks
Solid fuel
Lighter
1) Screw up two to three sheets of unwanted newspaper and place them on the floor of the pit.
2) Next, build a simple pyramid of sticks with fuel on top over the scrunched up sheets.
3) With care, light the paper from several points.
4) Once the sticks have caught fire insert the Jundor Power Bellows into various points within the fuel, switching the bellows on to supply oxygen rich air into heart of the pit.
5) Let the Jundor Power Bellows work for a few minutes and your fire pit will be ablaze.
So now you know how to light a fire pit quickly and safely using the only fire pit accessory that you'll ever need.
